The "Hawke" Battalion were part of the 1st (Royal Naval) Brigade, 63rd (Royal Naval) Division. The Battalion Joined the Brigade at Cape Helles on the night of 28th / 29th May 1915. The Battalion landed at Marseilles on the 23rd May 1916. They moved to 2nd (Royal Naval) Brigade in May 1916.
